After losing the German Super Cup, Bayern denounces racial abuse of Tel

Following Saturday’s 3-0 German Super Cup loss to RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich firmly denounced the “inhumane” racial insults directed against 18-year-old French forward Mathys Tel on social media.

“Anyone who writes such abhorrently racist comments is not a supporter of FC Bayern. After falling short to the German Cup champions on Sunday, the club posted a message on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, “Mathis, we have your back and you have our full support.”

The English striker Harry Kane, whose acquisition from Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday reportedly cost Bayern a Bundesliga record 100 million euros ($109.44 million), replaced Tel after 64 minutes after the champions’ Tel squandered multiple opportunities.
