Golf legend Chi Chi Rodriguez, renowned for his antics on the greens, passes away at the age of 88.

During his lengthy professional career, Juan “Chi Chi” Rodriguez, a golfer inducted into the Hall of Fame whose antics on the greens and inspirational life story made him one of the sport’s most popular players, passed away on Thursday. He was eighty-eight.

Puerto Rican senator Carmelo Javier Ríos revealed the news of Rodriguez’s passing. He omitted to mention the reason of death.

PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan stated in a statement that “Chi Chi Rodriguez’s incredible talent with a golf club in his hand surpassed only his passion for charity and outreach.”
