ISLAMABAD (Channel News): On Friday, Junaid Akbar was overwhelmingly chosen by the federal government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to serve as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman without opposition.
PML-N Senator Afnan Ullah Khan, Qasim Noon, and PTI’s Riaz Fatiana all supported PML-N MNA Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry’s suggestion of Junaid Akbar for the presidency.
Junaid Akbar of the PTI was officially elected as the committee’s chairman without opposition after receiving the consent of PAC members.
It should be noted that Junaid Akbar was the PTI’s nominee to succeed Sheikh Waqas Akram. During the nomination procedure, Adil Bazai’s name was also taken into account.
“I appreciate the support from all of the members,” stated Junaid Akbar Khan. We had hoped that Sheikh Waqas Akram would be chosen as chairman, but I’m determined to put in a lot of effort with my coworkers.
He also expressed gratitude to his party and the administration, seeing this new duty as a chance to develop.
Adil Bazai was chosen by the PTI panel to succeed Sheikh Waqas Akram as PAC Chairman, while the government and PTI had earlier agreed on Junaid Akbar Khan’s candidacy.
The Speaker of the National Assembly had earlier told the opposition about the election of the PAC Chairman and told them to remain in Islamabad for last-minute talks prior to the meeting.
