On Friday night, a tiny Learjet 55 plane crashed tragically in Northeast Philadelphia, leaving several people dead and extensive damage in its wake.

Shortly after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, the medical evacuation air ambulance crashed, killing all six passengers on board, according to reports. Four crew members, a pediatric patient, and the patient’s chaperone were among the dead.

When the plane crashed, it was headed to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri. It exploded into flames and burned numerous houses in the area. While sight was severely hampered by the rain at the time of the occurrence, local officials have confirmed that the fire destroyed at least one house and many cars.

In a prompt response, Philadelphia’s emergency management agency declared the collision a “major incident” and confirmed local traffic closures.

Emergency personnel are frantically trying to control the situation at the accident site, which is less than five kilometers from the airport.

In addition to confirming that there were six passengers on board, Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy said that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will jointly investigate the crash’s cause.

The aircraft’s operator, Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, released a statement expressing its sadness over the incident but saying it could not confirm any survival. Although she was unable to disclose the precise number of victims, Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker reassured the public throughout the tragedy that officials were making every effort to evaluate the situation.

Only days had passed since a horrific mid-air accident in Washington, D.C., between a passenger jet and a US Army Black Hawk chopper, which claimed 67 lives.

“Very sad to see the plane go down in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” said President Donald Trump in a sympathy message on Truth Social. More innocent people died. Our people are fully involved. First responders are already receiving praise for their excellent work. There will be more. May God bless everyone.
