Meta has launched a new tool on Facebook that lets content producers to earn money from public story views, boosting the platform’s monetization potential.
The tool is only available to creators who have previously participated in Facebook’s content monetization program. It allows them to generate income from existing material that they distribute as tales.
“For instance, if a user posts a cooking tutorial video or reel and shares part of it as a story, they can now earn from the story views as well,” according to a statement from Meta.
Additionally, ordinary material shared through stories can be monetized. A Meta representative stated that compensation will be dependent on content performance rather than a set number of views, making it simpler for producers to profit.
“This initiative aims to encourage creators to produce more content for Facebook,” according to the firm.
Creators who are already part of the monetization program will have instant access to the new functionality without having to take any further actions. Facebook first began its content monetization scheme last year, encouraging millions of people to join.
Meta has also revealed intentions to extend the initiative later this year, allowing more people to participate. Those who have not yet enlisted can indicate their interest on Facebook’s monetization website.
