The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has made the decision to start holding board exams for Class 8 pupils in the upcoming academic year, marking a major step toward standardizing instruction and enhancing evaluation procedures.
Exams were administered inside individual schools under the old system, but this is different. The new strategy seeks to guarantee consistency and openness in the province’s review procedure.
Students in Class 8 will take their examinations at specified testing locations rather than at their local schools under the new arrangement. To ensure fairness and impartiality, the procedure will be overseen by outside invigilators, such as PSEB officials and teachers from other schools. To guarantee fair marking, teachers from several universities will also review the answer papers.
This program is a component of PSEB’s continuous endeavors to improve educational quality and get pupils ready for the demands of more difficult board exams. Early board test introduction will give students invaluable experience and a better grasp of their academic achievement, laying a solid basis for further evaluations.
In parallel, Punjab’s nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) are presently holding their yearly matriculation examinations for grades 9 and 10. Exams for students in the 12th grade will start on April 29 and those in the 11th grade will start on May 20.
PSEB has put strong security measures in place to protect the integrity of the examination procedure. These include putting CCTV cameras in every test location, enforcing Section 144 to stop illegal gatherings, and strictly prohibiting the use of cell phones and other forbidden items on exam grounds. In order to prevent malpractice, law enforcement organizations are also crucial in making sure that exam papers are transported securely and keeping an eye on testing locations.
