ISLAMABAD, – The government raised the price of fuel by Rs 8.03 per litre with immediate effect late Thursday night, according to Dunya News.
The new price of petrol will be Rs 145.82 per litre, up from the existing cost of Rs 137.79 per litre, according to a notification issued in this respect.
The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also increased by Rs 8.14 per litre, to Rs142.62 a litre.
Kerosene oil was also raised by Rs 6.27 per litre to Rs 116.53 per litre. Furthermore, the price of light diesel oil has risen by Rs 5.72 per litre. As a result, the new price of light diesel oil would be Rs114.07 a litre.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Imran Khan rejected a summary of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (OGRA) proposal to raise petroleum product prices by Rs 11.53 on Saturday.
The OGRA requested a hike in petrol prices of Rs 11.53 per litre, high speed diesel prices of Rs 8.49 per litre, kerosene oil prices of Rs 6.29 per litre, and light diesel prices of Rs 5.72 per litre.
It is worth noting that the government raised the price of fuel by Rs10.49 per litre just three weeks ago in response to fluctuations in global oil prices.
