BAHAWALPUR: Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card Program in Punjab’s Bahawalpur Division on Tuesday.

The Qaumi Sehat Card is a ground-breaking government programme that would give free medical care up to one million rupees at government and chosen private facilities.

The prime minister remarked during the inaugural event that health concerns cause economic problems for individuals, and that the goal of this plan is to at least alleviate their financial hardship when they get ill.

PM Imran Khan remembers seeing the welfare state for the first time when he visited the United Kingdom (UK) when he was 18 years old.

He went on to say that Pakistan is the only country in the world to launch such an ambitious initiative to provide free health care to its residents.

Health cards, he claimed, will give individuals with quick and free care at government and private sector facilities, ushering in a revolution in the health sector.

In response to the opposition’s criticism, the premier stated that the COVID-19 epidemic caused issues across the world, including in Pakistan, but that the situation was brought under control thanks to his government’s actions.

“Bloomberg reported that Pakistan’s economy has stabilised, and the World Bank confirmed the country’s growth at 5.37 percent,” Prime Minister Imran Khan remarked, adding that if the government is failing, why are multinational corporations applauding Pakistan?

The opposition is attempting to obtain a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), but Imran Khan stated, “I want to make it clear that the accountability process will continue and no one will be awarded an NRO.”
