The International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Spokesperson, Gerry Rice, stated on Saturday that Pakistan’s economy is confronting external pressures.

The IMF spokeswoman emphasised in an online press conference that discipline must be maintained and that economic goals must be met.

When asked about Pakistan’s economic situation, he stated that the country’s economy is suffering external obstacles, with rising oil prices being one of them.

He went on to say that when the price of gasoline rises, so would the price of food, and that rising food costs will drive up inflation.
