Before wrapping off his two-day tour to Russia on Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan paid a visit to the Islamic Center and a historic mosque in Moscow.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister and his entourage visited Russia’s largest mosque, the Moscow Cathedral Mosque and Islamic Center. The Prime Minister and his team were welcomed by Grand Mufti Sheikh Ravil Gaynutdin.

The Prime Minister and his team toured the mosque and the Islamic Center. The mosque’s management gave the group an overview of the mosque’s history in Moscow. The mosque can hold a total of 10,000 attendees.

During his discussion with the Grand Mufti, the Prime Minister emphasised the need of combating the global rise of Islamophobia. In an increasingly fractured world, the Prime Minister emphasised the need of developing interfaith unity for peaceful coexistence.
