(AP) – Russian bombings on towns throughout Ukraine killed at least 12 people on Saturday, prompting Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to ask for “accelerated” Western weaponry supply.

Russian bombings in eastern Ukraine killed at least 11 people on Saturday, while rescuers in the city of Dnipro sifted through wreckage after a Russian strike blew down a nine-story residential structure, killing one, according to officials.

The strikes occurred as Russia continued to spread Ukrainian soldiers over the 1,000-kilometer (600-mile) front. Moscow has increased attacks in an effort to deplete Ukraine’s resources, frequently targeting energy installations and other critical infrastructure.
