KARACHI (Channel News) – For the first time, Pakistan’s heavy vehicle imports have hit a historic high, with buses and trucks seeing a significant increase this fiscal year.
According to figures issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), bus and truck imports totaled $262.4 million in the first 11 months of fiscal year 2025-26, the highest amount in the country’s history.
According to the statistics, imports of buses and trucks totaled $57.8 million over the same period of fiscal year 2024-25, a considerable rise from the previous year.
According to State Bank data, the majority of heavy transport imports were in the form of totally completed units.
Analysts ascribed the increase in transport imports to reduced financing rates and government incentives, which encouraged enterprises and operators to expand their fleets with imported cars.
