PARIS (AFP) Charlotte Dujardin’s withdrawal for repeatedly flogging a horse has put further pressure on her instructor Carl Hester, who must unite his compatriots if Britain is to reclaim the Olympic team dressage crown from 2012.

Hester, 57, will be the oldest British rider riding in his seventh Games; he was the youngest ever when he participated in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Hester, who gave Dujardin her first employment in the sport as a groom in 2007, strongly criticized her behavior in a letter.
