Tel Aviv (AFP) — As the Israeli captives enter their 300th day of detention in Gaza on Thursday, hundreds of Israelis marched through Tel Aviv, shouting slogans and waving national flags to demand their release.
The marchers, many of them were sporting “300 Days” t-shirts, shouted, “There is no victory until the hostages are back,” as they passed the defense ministry in the nation’s commercial center, according to an AFP correspondent.
1,197 persons, largely civilians, were killed in an attack on Israel by Palestinian militants on October 7, sparking the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, according to an AFP count based on Israeli government statistics.
During the attack, militants also took 251 people into custody; 111 of them are currently being held in Gaza.
