Dubai: The emirate’s media office said Thursday that a fire that broke out aboard a container ship at Dubai’s main port after an explosion has been brought under control, with no injuries reported.

At least three homeowners in the blast’s vicinity said their windows and doors were shattered as a consequence of the occurrence, the cause of which is yet unknown.
The Dubai Media Office tweeted, “A fire sparked by an explosion within a container on board a ship at Jebel Ali Port has been brought under control; no injuries have been recorded.”

The ship was getting ready to dock, according to another tweet from the office. The tweet was accompanied by video of firefighters battling a blaze on a huge vessel piled with similar containers, save for their insignia, while the flames strewn debris across the quayside.

According to Dubai authorities, three of the ship’s 130 containers contained combustible goods, and there were 14 crew members on board.
According to an AFP reporter on the site, a helicopter was flying overhead as smoke billowed from the well guarded complex.
According to the US Congressional Research Service, the port can handle aircraft carriers and was the US Navy’s busiest port of call outside of the US in 2017.
According to the Dubai Media Office, the port administration stated it was “taking all necessary precautions to ensure the routine flow of ships in the port continues without any disturbance.”
