Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that deliberations on digital currency legislation in Pakistan are now underway.

The comment was delivered at a meeting of the Economic Advisory Council, chaired by the Prime Minister and attended by a number of council members.

The participants voiced trust in government initiatives and made recommendations for future growth, which were appreciated by the Prime Minister.

In his speech, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted that economic stability is a collaborative endeavor, not the job of any one. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustainable economic growth and emphasized measures to encourage commerce in the area.

The Prime Minister indicated that the government’s goal is to improve the competitiveness of local industries in foreign markets, with an emphasis on increasing exports and generating employment. He also emphasized measures to construct green data centers and enhance telecommunications capabilities, particularly in distant locations, in order to boost IT exports and freelancing.

The Prime Minister stressed the ongoing efforts to regulate digital money in Pakistan and the significance of translating today’s discussions into tangible actions.

During the discussion, participants praised the government’s economic policies, stating that the country’s economy is stable and expanding. They emphasized that price stability has contributed to increased output, and the government’s action plan is recognized by global economic organizations, investors, and the business community.

They also praised the government’s dedication to institutional changes and tax system improvements, which have resulted in a more business-friendly climate.

The conference also discussed an increase in exports in a month, which attendees considered as a promising indication of economic improvement. Furthermore, the crackdown on smuggling was perceived as helping to increased exports.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sharif met with an 11-member Bahraini parliamentary delegation led by Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Bahrain Council of Representatives.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister invited Bahraini investors to explore investment possibilities in Pakistan, highlighting the two countries’ strong bilateral connections. He also extended his best wishes to Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to improving diplomatic and economic relations.
