Days after the release of Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt came to Instagram to applaud Vicky Kaushal’s performance. “Vicky Kaushal!” What are you? Can’t get over your performance in Chhaava!” Alia wrote on Wednesday.
The historical drama is set during the late-seventeenth-century Deccan Wars. “Shivaji’s death sparked the Maratha-Mughal war. His son, Sambhaji, leads the fight against Aurangzeb’s army. The summary reads: “Amid battles and intrigue, both sides face challenges in a struggle for power.”
Vicky and Alia starred in Meghna Gulzar’s 2018 film Raazi as lovers. The two will also appear together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s forthcoming film, Love & War, which is set to release in March 2026. The movie also stars Alia’s husband, Ranbir Kapoor.
Aside from appreciating Vicky’s depiction of Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor also expressed gratitude to the film’s cast and crew.
“Akshaye Khanna is one of my fave performers on cinema! As Aurangzeb, you were fantastic. Rashmika Mandanna was stunningly lovely. “Those eyes!” Alia wrote. “Congratulations, Laxman Utekar sir, for this wonderful movie and all the love and praise that is coming your way.”
Katrina Kaif, Vicky’s wife, was another Bollywood celebrity to give the film high acclaim. “What a cinematic experience, and what a monumental task to bring to life the glory of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj,” she said in an Instagram grid post on Saturday.
In her remark, Katrina also praised the director’s narrative abilities. “Laxman Utekar presents this remarkable story in the most perfect manner. I am in awe. The final 40 minutes of the film will leave you stunned. “I’ve spent the entire morning wanting to go and re-watch it,” she said. “I’m at a loss for words at the impact of this film.”
Of course, she kept some particular accolades for her husband, praising him for his knowledge of his profession. “You transition into your roles with ease and fluidity, like a chameleon. “I am so proud of you and your talent,” she wrote.
“Dinesh Vijan,” she said, addressing the film’s producer. “What is there to say?” You are a real visionary. You support and believe in what you believe, blazing a new path of brilliance with each passing day. The entire cast is amazing. This is a movie for the big screen. So proud of the entire squad.”
