Layyah (App) – Police have filed proceedings against a shop and an agency for diverting money from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Ramazan Nighaban Package.
According to a district government spokesman, Assistant Commissioner Haris Hameed Khan conducted raids in the Chowk Azam area and detained shopkeeper Abu Bakar Naseemullah and agent Muhammad Mujahid alias Jugnu for fraudulently diverting Rs500 from a pay draft.
Further legal processes were pending.
Under the Ramazan package, the Punjab government is offering Rs10,000 in cash to three million needy households.
