SIALKOT – Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won the by-election for PP-38 Sialkot by a margin of 7,117 votes.

According to an unofficial and unverified total of all 165 polling stations, the PTI’s Chaudhry Ahsan Saleem Baryar received 60,588 votes, while the Pakistan Muslim League-candidate Nawaz’s received 53,471 votes.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister on Information and Broadcasting, told the media following the PTI candidate’s victory that the people have rejected those who have stolen the national money.


The government and the PTI leadership deserve praise for holding peaceful by-elections in Sialkot, with the people completely embracing Prime Minister Imran Khan’s philosophy.

Dr. Firdous went on to say that the PTI candidate won by 7,117 votes.

“The PML-N tried to purchase my people with money,” she claimed, adding that PTI members respected the vote above the cash. The opposition’s allegations were refuted by the calm election in Sialkot.

According to the data, 165 polling booths had been set up for the constituency’s 233,422 registered voters. To guarantee a calm election, Rangers and Police were deployed.
