ISLAMABAD : In his Independence Day address on Saturday, Prime Minister Imran Khan underlined Pakistan’s commitment to stability in Afghanistan, saying the country had made enormous sacrifices and paid a high price for instability on its western border.

“We have constantly stated that there is no military solution to the Afghan problem. Pakistan would continue to support a negotiated political settlement in Afghanistan for long-term peace and stability,” he added.

The Prime Minister stated, “We want peace inside and peace beyond in order to achieve our socioeconomic programme.” Naya Pakistan has switched its focus from geopolitics to geoeconomics, with our people’s well-being and welfare as the main priority.
