LAHORE – Dengue fever was identified in 23 persons in Islamabad on Saturday, and 19 people have died as a result of the disease thus far.

Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 114 cases have been reported (KP). 86 patients are being treated in various hospitals across the province.

In the last 24 hours, Peshawar has reported 95 new dengue patients.

Dengue fever has now infected 277 additional persons in Punjab, bringing the total death toll in the region to 90.

Dengue fever is an infection spread by mosquitos that can cause a severe flu-like disease. Aedes mosquitoes are to blame.

Around 2.5 billion people, or 40% of the world’s population, live in places where dengue transmission is a possibility.
