ISLAMABAD,– A conflict has arisen between the Centre and the Sindh government about the transfer of top personnel of the Pakistan Administrative Services.

The Establishment Division has served notices against 29 officers, including 17 BPS-20 officers and 12 BPS-20 officers from the Pakistan Administrative Services.

The division has asked the cops to provide an explanation within seven days.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah wrote to Prime Minister Imran Khan, rejecting a federal government suggestion to remove key police personnel from the state.

According to the letter submitted to Prime Minister Imran Khan, legal processes for the transfer of senior officers were breached since a vital criterion of consultation between the prime minister and the chief minister was ignored.

He stated that Sindh already has a shortage of top officials, with just 22 BPS-20 police officers now stationed in the province.

“There is a need to expand the BPS-20 officials in the province to 26,” the chief minister stated, while also seeking the appointment of 20 more Pakistan Administrative Services officers (PAS).
