ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – On Wednesday, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain stated that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) do not have an agenda or a programme.
In a message on the social-networking site Twitter, the minister stated that just criticising does not lead to success since an alternative agenda must be developed to attract people.
Instead of wanting to overthrow the government, he believes the two parties should propose reform suggestions.
Fawad Ch previously stated that the Federal Cabinet, when considering the most crucial decision on the electronic voting machine, stated that after amendments to the [election] legislation, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will be required to hold any future by-polls using these devices.
“There is another perspective that the government would not be able to support ECP if elections are not conducted using EVMs,” he added.
According to the minister, the ECP should guarantee that EVMs are used in all future elections because Parliament has mandated it.
