JERUSALEM (AFP) – Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett called for the “rapid halt” of the restarted nuclear talks between Iran and Western nations in Vienna on Thursday, accusing Iran of “nuclear blackmail.”

Bennett, who has been a strong opponent of the 2015 accord that the powers are attempting to resurrect, instead advocated for “concrete steps” against Iran in a phone chat with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

According to a statement from his office, he stated that “Iran was using ‘nuclear blackmail’ as a negotiation strategy, and that this must be responded by an immediate stoppage of discussions and tangible actions done by the major nations.”
