ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – On Monday, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an anti-government coalition of opposition parties, renamed their lengthy march “Mehangai March” and announced that it will march towards Islamabad on March 23.
PDM Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman told a press conference following the PDM meeting in Islamabad on Monday that the PDM leadership will host meetings in all four provinces about the march against increasing prices.
He said that the existing administration came to power as a result of election manipulation in 2018.
All of the opposition leaders attended today’s meeting, and the situation in the country was reviewed, according to Fazlur Rehman. The matter of resignations was also discussed, but the PDM would determine when and how to do it willingly, he said.
The JUI-F leader further stated that the opposition leadership will meet with the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), and the business sector to discuss the “Mehangai March.”
