KARACHI: Government coalition partner Muttahida Qaumi Movement has increased contacts with opposition parties which quoted sources as saying that a delegation of MQM-Pakistan will meet leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif at his Lahore residence on Tuesday.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the MQM-P team, which includes Amir Khan, Waseem Akhtar, and Sadiq Iftikhar, will meet with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday at his Model Town mansion.
Sources said the two sides would talk about Sindh’s political condition, with a focus on local government and other concerns.
During a meeting between the two parties, the issue of in-house change via a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan will also be discussed, according to sources.
Furthermore, a team from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) would meet with Pakistan Muslim League-Q leadership tomorrow.
The MQM delegation will question about the health of PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujat Hussian, who is sick.
In light of the recent Supreme Court ruling, the MQM leaders will also examine the local government system.
The top leadership of the Awami National Party met with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement today (ANP). A delegation from the MQM-P met with ANP’s Aimal Wali Khan at Wali Bagh today, including Amir Khan and Waseem Akhtar.
Mian Iftikhar, Ameer Haider Hoti, and other ANP leaders attended the conference.
