Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif would meet Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday.
The meeting will take place at the PML-N president’s house in Model Town Lahore. Sources said Shahbaz Sharif would inform Maulana Fazlur Rehman about his meeting with Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to sources, the two presidents would also address the country’s present political crisis.
Earlier on Saturday, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari met with Shahbaz Sharif at his Model Town mansion.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif stated that the current administration has failed to advance the Kashmir cause, and that no progress was made even during the OIC summit. He stated that the hearts of Kashmiri elders, brothers, and sisters beat for Pakistan, and that the children of Pakistan will stand with them till they have the right to self-determination. “We will offer them with even more political and social assistance than before.”
He stated that terrorism has resurfaced, and that troops have given their lives to remove terrorists. He stated that Zarb-e-Momin operations began during the PPP era, while Zarb-e-Azb and Raad-ul-Fasaad operations began during Nawaz Sharif’s term, but it is sad that the PTI could not implement the National Action Plan during its three-year reign.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated on the occasion that the opposition is united and will do all constitutionally and legally feasible to depose Imran Khan.
He said that at today’s meeting, both parties discussed their intentions to destabilise the PTI government.
The PPP chairman stated that the PML-N will consult on our ideas very soon, and that the government has made people’s life miserable by inflicting historic poverty, inflation, and unemployment.
Regarding the Kashmir conflict, Bilawal stated that the administration has been unable to reach an agreement on the reason. He voiced his concern over the rising number of terror occurrences in the country, particularly in Balochistan.
“The administration’s inability to deal with terrorism is extremely obvious,” he said, adding that it is normal for the government to be frightened by opposition party unity.
The PPP chairman also lauded Shahbaz Sharif’s efforts to maintain opposition unity in the National Assembly.
