ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has refused to award its ally Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) the position of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab.
According to reports, PTI Defence Minister Pervez Khattak told PML-Q leader and Water Resources Minister Moonis Elahi that the PTI cannot grant the PML-Q the position of Chief Minister of Punjab. They are free to join the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) if the job is offered to them.
Pervez Khattak further said that the PML-demand Q’s for only five seats is blackmail.
The defence minister further added that PML-Q leader Tariq Bashir Cheema’s remarks are an insult to the PTI leadership, and that if it had been someone other than Tariq Bashir Cheema, he would have resigned from the Federal Cabinet before making such remarks.
According to the PTI leader, blackmailing your allies during difficult times is wrong.
It is worth noting that, in the midst of the current political turmoil, the leader of the PML-Q and Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, has stated that the allies are completely aligned with the opposition.
According to Pervaiz Elahi, it is Imran Khan’s obligation to reverse the trend.
The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly went on to remark that the administration has a complete lack of wisdom and that they had been approached by all parties except the government.
Mr. Elahi remarked that all parties except the administration offered us, and that decisions made in panic by the government are coming to light. Only one individual is pacing about in fright.
The notification of public meetings should be cancelled first by the administration, then by the opposition, according to the Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
He went on to say that not only would everyone make decisions jointly, but that our decision is being stymied by the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
According to Pervaiz Elahi, the MQM is at odds with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). Asif Zardari resolved 70% of the concerns at yesterday’s meeting. A meeting with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled for shortly.
