Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday authorised financial aid for farmers whose standing crops were damaged in Sialkot as a result of a shooting incident.
He asked the Punjab administration to promptly distribute assistance checks to farmers whose wheat production totaled 90,000 kg.
Crop burning happened on April 23 in Bela Pull Bajwan in the Bijot area. A wheat harvest on 77 acres was destroyed by fire, impacting 15 farmers.
According to the inquiry, the fire was started by a faulty harvesting equipment. The fire spread when it burned an 80-liter diesel reserve, which the fire department was unable to reach in time owing to the 32-kilometer distance.
