RAWALPINDI, ISLAMABAD – On Sunday, a new charge was filed against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Awami Muslim League (AML) president Sheikh Rashid in connection with the Masjid-e-Nabawi incident.
According to information, Qazi Muhammad Tariq Advocate has filed a case at the New Airport Police Station for desecration of Masjid-e-Nabawi by improper conduct and slogan shouting on the premises of the Holy Shrine.
In addition, the complaint names former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Fawad Chaudhry, Shahbaz Gill, and Murad Saeed.
According to the complaint, a party of miscreants led by Sheikh Rashid was dispatched to Saudi Arabia, while a second group led by Sahibzada Jahangir from Britain comprised Aneel Musarrat, Nabeel Musarrat, Rana Abdul Sattar, Amir Ilyas, Ejaz Haq, and Gohar Jilani.
The registered lawsuit further alleged that the event at Masjid-e-Nabawi damaged the sensibilities of Muslims.
In the meantime, an application to register a complaint against Imran Khan and Sheikh Rashid has been filed at the Margalla police station.
According to the application, PTI employees in Saudi Arabia violated the sterility of the Holy place, and the entire matter was arranged in Pakistan, with Sheikh Rashid pre-planning the Masjid-e-Nabawi incident.
It was also said that a lawsuit should be filed against the previous Interior Minister.
A man called Muhammad Nawaz Bhatti submitted the petition to get the aforementioned case registered.
Previously, a FIR was filed in Faisalabad against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other major party figures.
The accusations are presented for participating in the incident at Masjid-e-Nabwi, when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and federal ministers were mocked by some Pakistani pilgrims.
Imran Khan, Shahbaz Gill, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Fawad Chaudhry, Qasim Suri, and Aneel Musarrat are among the PTI leaders accused in the FIR.
The nephew of former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad was apprehended by the authorities as soon as his jet touched down at New Islamabad International Airport.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has intimated that former Prime Minister Imran Khan might be jailed in connection with a case involving anti-Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team at Masjid-e-Nabawi sloganeering.
According to Rana Sanaullah, the event involving the harassment of PML-N officials at the holy mosque was preplanned, and around 100-150 persons were part in the incident.
The minister went on to say that the Saudi government had decided to take action against those engaged in the event, and that some of them will be deported from the Kingdom.
