Miftah Ismail, Minister of Finance, has announced that the government has decided not to extend Dr. Reza Baqir’s three-year term as Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

On Tuesday, Ismail revealed on his official Twitter account that SBP Governor Dr Reza Baqir’s three-year term ends on May 4.

“I spoke with him and informed him of the government’s decision,” he wrote.

“I’d like to express my gratitude to Reza for his service to Pakistan.” He is a highly qualified man, and we got along well during our brief time together. “I wish him all the best,” wrote the finance minister.
