Following the death of the previous holder of the title, a 112-year-old Venezuelan farmer has been officially recognised as the world’s oldest living man, according to Guinness World Records.

According to Guinness, Juan Vicente Perez was recognised as the world’s oldest living male in February.

“His health and memory are superb.” “He remembers his childhood, marriage, brothers’ names, children, and grandchildren,” Guinness said.

“He enjoys being surrounded by family and friends while they tell stories and converse.”

Perez was born on May 27, 1909, in the western state of Tachira, where he began helping his parents harvest sugar cane and coffee at the age of five.

He worked as a sheriff in his hometown as an adult, managing land conflicts.

Perez was married to Ediofina del Rosario Garcia for 60 years until her death in 1997.
