NAIROBI (Reuters) – Kenya had a national power outage on Saturday evening due to a “system issue,” according to energy distributor Kenya Power (KPLC.NR).

“We are working hard to restore normality as soon as possible,” Kenya Power stated in a statement.

Kenya Power is the country’s primary electricity distributor, and the majority of its power originates from the principal producer, Kenya Electricity Generating Corporation (KenGen) (KEGN.NR).
