Google said on Wednesday that it is expanding the use of artificial intelligence throughout its platform by bringing Bard, a competitor to Microsoft-backed ChatGPT, to 180 countries.

Executives at Google’s annual developers conference in Silicon Valley said that generative AI will also be used to boost the internet giant’s dominant search engine.

“We’ve been applying AI for a while; with generative AI, we’re taking the next step,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai told the thousands of developers in attendance.
