Al-Hilal president Fahd Bin Nafel declined to comment on the idea of signing Lionel Messi, stating that his Saudi Arabian team is “more important than just one player” as supporters demand for the World Cup champion.

“Don’t ask me about Messi,” Bin Nafel said after Al-Hilal won the King’s Cup final in Jeddah on Friday, when questioned about the Argentine superstar’s transfer rumour.

“I’m not going to tell you anything. You will be notified whenever anything comes out of our media centre.”
