MANCHESTER: Manchester City delivered a historic performance to reach the Champions League final, with Bernardo Silva’s double putting Real Madrid to the sword in a 4-0 thumping that gave the English champions a 5-1 aggregate triumph on Wednesday.

Eder Militao’s own goal and Julian Alvarez’s stoppage-time strike capped a spectacular night for Pep Guardiola’s players, who came within three victories of repeating Manchester United’s treble in 1998/99.

“To play like that against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals is huge satisfaction,” Guardiola added.
