Karim Benzema, the Ballon d’Or winner for Real Madrid, has agreed to a three-year contract with Al-Ittihad, the Jeddah-based club said on Tuesday. He will join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
Benzema has arrived. A brand-new tiger will roar. We’re glad you’re here at Ittihad,” the club tweeted.
Ronaldo, a five-time global player of the year, went from Manchester United to Al Nassr after the 2014 global Cup and will now join Karim Benzema, a former Real Madrid colleague, in the Gulf state.
Another country that has been mentioned in connection with Lionel Messi’s departure from Paris Saint-Germain after two seasons is Saudi Arabia.
