The Premier League’s Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves to a three-year contract with Al Hilal, the Saudi Arabian club confirmed on Friday.
Wolves stated Neves, who signed his contract in Paris, was transferring for a club record sum, which was reportedly worth 55 million euros ($60 million). They did not provide exact financial information, though.
Wolves released a statement saying that no other player had “made such an impact on the pitch in gold and black during the last six years” with more than 250 appearances during that time in the club’s history. With Wanderers, the 26-year-old made 253 appearances and 30 goals in all competitions.
