Mirra Andreeva, a schoolgirl and tennis prodigy, looks up to Rafa Nadal for mental fortitude and resilience.

The 16-year-old Russian, who advanced to the fourth round of Wimbledon on Sunday after defeating compatriot and 22nd seed Anastasia Potapova, said she had been working on the psychological aspect of her game and that the 22-time Grand Slam winner was an example to follow.

“In 2022, he won the French Open after Nadal. “I was really impressed because he came back from an injury and won the Australian Open and the French Open,” she remarked.
“After that, I can say that now, mentally, I just try to copy him every now and then.”
