Madonna said on Monday that all of her future North American tour dates will be rescheduled as she recovers from a multi-day hospitalisation for a serious infection.

The “Celebration” tour was supposed to begin this month in Vancouver. The tour will now begin with a European leg in October, according to the “Vogue” singer on Twitter.

Live Nation, the tour’s promoter, said replacement North American dates would be announced “as soon as possible” and urged fans to hang onto their tickets.

Madonna, 64, was in intensive care for several days last month while being treated for a bacterial infection.
