A number of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members were detained by Indian police on Thursday for participating in a candlelight ceremony to honour the July 13, 1931 martyrs.
Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the PDP, posted on Twitter that the Kothibagh police station in Srinagar had been the destination of the detained workers.
“PDP youth members were detained and transported to Kothibagh for holding a candlelight vigil to remember the martyrs from July 13th. Who’s the mother of democracy? She posted images of PDP members in what looks to be a police car on Twitter.
