On July 30, people all around the world will observe the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, which aims to raise awareness about this scourge and promote global efforts to end it.

Nearly a third of the millions of victims of human trafficking are youngsters.

A resolution designating July 30 as the “World Day against Trafficking in Persons” was adopted by the UN member states in 2013. They stated that the need for such a day was to “raise awareness of the situation of human trafficking victims and for the promotion and protection of their rights.”
