In Hamburg on Saturday, Dutch veteran Arantxa Rus won her first WTA title at the age of 32 by ending the German adolescent Noma Noha Akugue’s Cinderella run.

Rus defeated Akugue, a wild card, 6-0, 7-6 (7/3) in 1 hour and 45 minutes to prevent her from winning her maiden WTA main tournament match. Alexander Zverev of Germany defeated Frenchman Arthur Fils in the men’s competition to advance to the final, where he will play Serbian Laslo Djere on Sunday.
