A federal judge presiding over the trial of former President Donald Trump on allegations of attempting to destabilize the 2020 election has ordered his attorneys and federal prosecutors to appear in court on Friday for a hearing to help define how evidence can be used and shared in the case.

The hearing was set for Friday at 10 a.m. ET (1400 GMT) by US District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, just after Trump’s attorneys and employees of US Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office battled in a combined court over when to schedule the proceeding.

Prosecutors indicated they would be accessible all week, while Trump’s lawyers requested a delay until early next week.
