Police apprehend Ranipur’s spiritual figure for torturing and killing a 10-year-old maid.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Pir Asad Shah Jeelani, a member of Ranipur’s powerful Pirs, was detained by Khairpur police for reportedly torturing a 10-year-old maid to death.

The case first came to light after video recordings of Fatima’s tortured corpse went viral on social media. Across the country, the video sparked fury.

According to reports, the victim is the daughter of Nadeem Ali Tharro, a native of Ali Muhammad Tharro village in the Naushehro Feroze district. The family is thought to be the spiritual figure’s followers.

Shikarpur SSP Rohal Khan Khoso and ASP Mohammad Nauman Zaffar were assigned to probe the matter by Sukkur DIG Javed Soonharo Jiskani.

Pir Asad was apprehended by police after a FIR was filed. On the complaint of the dead child’s mother, the Ranipur police filed a FIR under Sections 302 (Qatl-i-amd; planned murder) and 34 (acts done by multiple individuals in furtherance of same intention) of the PPC.

The suspect has already denied killing the youngster, claiming that the girl had complained of stomach trouble and was being treated at his house. Jeelani stated the girl died during the procedure.

The SHO and the doctor in question have previously been jailed and imprisoned for hiding information.
