(Reuters) MOSCOW Russia claimed on Friday that Ukraine had assaulted Crimea with 42 drones and fired a missile at Moscow, making it the largest known coordinated Ukrainian air attack on Russian-controlled territory to date.

A modified S-200 missile was reportedly shot down over the Kaluga region, which borders the Moscow region, according to the Russian defense ministry. Moscow and Kaluga are separated by fewer than 200 kilometers (124 miles).

The missile was found and shot down by air defenses over the Kaluga region, according to the defense ministry.

Vladislav Shapsha, the governor of Kaluga, claimed there were no casualties.
