MILWAUKEE (Wisconsin) — Authorities reported Sunday that an SUV ploughed through a Christmas parade in the Milwaukee suburb of Waukesha, killing four people and injuring at least 20 more according to USA Today.
The investigation is still underway, according to Waukesha Police Chief Dan Thompson, but a “suspect car” was found and a person of interest is currently in jail.
Police took some of the injured to hospitals, while others were brought by family members, according to Thompson, who described the situation as “extremely terrible” and “quite chaotic.”
He declined to say how many people had died, citing the need to contact family members first.
The Waukesha Fire Department evacuated 11 adults and 12 children to nearby hospitals, according to Fire Chief Steve Howard.
