KARACHI – After a winter hiatus, all educational institutions in Sindh and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resumed on Monday.
Government schools and colleges opened on the first day of school, but private institutions in Sindh remained closed, with plans to reopen on January 4. Parents have requested that their children’s vacation be extended since they believe the temperature in Sindh, especially Karachi, would decrease in the following days.
However, low attendance was recorded in both provinces’ government schools.
According to a decision made by the provincial education department’s steering committee, the Sindh government has declared a winter holiday for schools and institutions throughout the state from December 20 to January 1, 2023.
Schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s summer zone were closed from December 25 to January 1. On the other hand, the winter vacations in the province’s mountainous area started on January 1 and will last through February 15.
