LAHORE, — Due to the increasing coronavirus situation in Punjab and Islamabad, all schools will be closed from September 6 to September 11.

Pakistan has recorded 57 deaths from new coronavirus in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases to 1,171,578. On Friday, the total number of fatalities in the United States had risen to 26,035 people.

In the last 24 hours, 3,787 people tested positive for COVID-19, according to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

In terms of fatalities, Punjab remained the worst-affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Until date, the pandemic has claimed the lives of 11,979 people in Punjab, 6,932 in Sindh, 5,041 in KP, 868 in Islamabad, 702 in Azad Kashmir, 339 in Balochistan, and 174 in the United Kingdom.

In addition, 435,159 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Sindh, 397,694 cases in Punjab, 163,677 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 100,242 cases in Islamabad, 32,484 cases in Azad Kashmir, 32,329 cases in Balochistan, and 9,993 cases in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has tested for coronavirus 17,931,365 times thus far, including 59,745 in the previous 24 hours. In the country, 1,055,467 people have recovered, while 5,606 patients remain in serious condition.
