PARIS (AFP) — Following his victory in the 100-meter race in Paris, Noah Lyles easily won the 200-meter heat at the Stade de France on Monday, preserving his hopes of completing the sprint treble.
Lyles won his 200-meter heat in 20.19 seconds after defeating Jamaican Kishane Thompson in a photofinish in the 100-meter event.
After a sluggish start, the three-time world 200-meter champion appeared to be in complete control as soon as he round the curve.
The final is slated for Thursday at 1830 GMT, and the semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday at 1802 GMT.
